Infants
This program serves children 6 weeks to 1 year of age. The ratio is 1 staff to 4 children. Goals for the infants include speech and language development, motor development, and introduction to group activities.
Toddler 1's
This program serves children 1-2 years of age. The ratio is 1 staff to 5 children. Goals for this age group include social, motor, and language development. Group activities and projects continue to be introduced.
Toddler 2's
This program serves children 2-3 years of age. The ratio is 1 staff to 6 children. Goals for this age group include potty training, social, motor, and language development. It is in this program that group activities and projects really begin.
Three Year Olds
This program serves children 3-4 years of age. The ratio is 1 staff to 8 children. This is a preschool program designed to provide a balanced day of quiet and active periods. Included in the daily schedule is a morning activity centered around a monthly theme. This often includes circle time, songs, art projects, and group games.
Four Year Olds
This program serves children 4-5 years of age. This is also a preschool program with a balanced day of quiet and active times. Morning activity times begin to concentrate more on shapes, colors, and letters. Activities are planned around a monthly theme. The ratio in this program is 1 staff to 12 children.
Kindergarten
This program is geared to 4 and 5 year old children showing strong pre-academic skills. Children who are enrolled in public kindergarten may attend for half days, or children may be enrolled for the full day. This program prepares children for 1st grade by providing a varied day of learning and play activities. The Beginning Reading program is used to introduce children to reading on individual levels. The ratio in this program is 1 staff to 15 children.
Before / After School Programs
These programs are offered at Elm St., Pleasant St., and Woodland Heights elementary schools for elementary school children. These programs are designed to provide 6-12 year olds with opportunities for arts and crafts, outdoor play, and group games. Children also have opportunities to work on homework assignments with help from the program staff. Children may attend the program mornings before school, after school, and during school vacations.
Summer Camp Program
This program serves elementary school children during summer vacation time. Children participate in a variety of arts and crafts and science activities during the mornings. Afternoons are spent at local beaches. Weekly field trips are arranged to offer children the opportunity to visit many of New Hampshire's natural attractions. Children may attend from 1-10 weeks.
Each program offered through LRCC is designed to work with children at their i ndividual level of development. Classroom placements depend on the child's age as well as his or her developmental skills. If at any time you have concerns regarding your child's placement in a classroom, please feel free to speak with the Executive Director or your child's teacher.
